Frankly, I was more than a little offended by this story. They acted as if that it’s only mommies who blog, and the rest of us are just chopped liver. Only mommies are good for advertising and making money.
Has it occurred to anyone on this planet that some of us have chosen not to procreate, but still have something to say?
I knew there was a reason why I won’t watch the Today Show, other than Kathie Lee Gifford being on it. I despise the ASSumption that all women are mommies, and all women who blog are mommy bloggers.
There is a HUGE market out there for older people with no kids, and adverts are missing out by not seeing it. I might like the Today Show better if they did a story about the geezerblogger (over 40) market. I doubt that this will ever happen, though.
Thank you, Today, for trying to make me feel worthless because I made a choice not to have kids.
I thought Kathy Lee Gifford was rude actually, but I watched this segment as it was happening.
Thanks for posing it though, and have a great weekend guys!
I find Dooce to be a huge waste of my time, but she certainly has figured out how to cash in on her child.
Kathie Lee was rude and annoying - they have to have two interviewers there because they know KL won’t have a clue of what she’s talking about?
Funny how KLee’s worried that Leta will be molested or something because of being spoken about on a ‘blog when, while she was on TV years ago, she wouldn’t stop talking about her kids. I think I heard more about Cody and Cassidy’s toilet training than I ever even *thought* about my own kids’.
That aside, I was really annoyed when they cut her off when she was trying to answer a question regarding privacy and blogging. :/
And honestly, I’m more worried about someone following me home from the store or attacking me at a gas station than I am about someone finding me from my blog.

Is it just me or do they seem a little clueless about blogging in general? I wonder if they even know how many of us aren’t mommies, nor well known?

I like Heather.
