Word press Free Hosted Blogs No Longer Accepted
I think this is the link they sent to on of our bloggers the highlighted area is guess the “offense”.
Looks like Wordpress will no longer let people put the links they want to in the blogs that are hosted by word press. I am very dissappointed since I do love the wordpress platform, but hey it is up to them they let people host blogs for free. ![]()
If you have a wordpress hosted blog I highly reccomend looking at hosting your own install of word press or other blogging platform. There are many hosting companies that offer hosting for around $100 per year, many of them have auto installs for multiple blogging platforms. Since you can easily make that money up very quickly, I think its an easy decision to go ahead and invest in hosting your own.
I can reccomend a few hosting companies if anyone needs that sort of help let us know.
We will also be happy to offer any guidance as to setting up your own hosted blog.
Let us know how We can help.

That is ridiculous! Is there a blogger alive who have NEVER talked about how they went to xyz dot com, and bought the world’s coolest widget there…WITHOUT being paid for it? That is providing traffic to that third-party site. What really is the difference. besides the fact that we’re now getting paid for these kinds of blog posts? Would I get kicked off of WP.com for blogging about my favorite shopping site, and providing links? Maybe now I would, since they might assume that I was being paid. If that’s the way it goes, it’s a good thing I never used WP.com, as I would have gotten kicked off a thousand times by now…all BEFORE PayU2Blog and other such companies even existed!
That said, I do agree that in the long run, it’s best to just buy one’s own domain and hosting. With most paid hosting, as long as you’re not promoting any illegal activities on your site, they will leave you alone and not delete your blog. You have the freedom to post what you want…it’s yours and you pay for it.
Also, it’s gonna get to the point, if it hasn’t already, where advertisers will only want to pay for links on blogs on their own domains. So if you don’t want to be pushed out of the market, getting one’s own domain and hosting makes a lot of sense.
Finally…it’s just plain FUN to have your own domain! I have four right now. They are all ME in their own ways, and I love having them!

You can get hosting for much less than $100 a year. I pay $5 a month with Verve Hosting right now.

I was one of the ones who got kicked off WP and the bummer of it was, I actually used it for more than just payU2blog posts! When I asked if I removed the offensive posts would they reinstate my blog, I received no reply from admin which really is poor business. I deserved at least an answer even if it was a no. However, it appears that they would not stop me from creating a new blog if I wanted to. Of course, I’m burned now, so won’t.
My own hosting is the way to go. Not as cheap as free, but without someone imposing their idea of proper conduct on me.

We went with our own domain and Wordpress and I like the control, I’m the boss of me (hope I don’t find out I’m surfing instead of working!).
